Golden Postpartum
Larissa Cieplik | Doula
Hi, I'm Larissa.
I’m a postpartum doula and I am so honoured you are here. I live in the North East of Melbourne and have been a Registered Nurse for ten years; currently working part time as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager at a large Melbourne Hospital. I am also a mother to my headstrong and clever daughter - whose name means “golden” - and who is my constant source of inspiration and motivation.
My passions include hiking, reading, watching films, being with my family and friends and anything mountain or river adjacent. I probably swear too much, and I'm just a little bit too loud, but I promise I'm improving on that last note. In addition to my lived experience, my knowledge is supported by my decade of acute nursing experience and my completed postpartum doula training course.
I have been caring for people for most of my adult life in my paid and unpaid labour, and I am drawn to work that allows me to nurture others. My own postpartum period was turbulent and I often found myself longing for a village of support. Becoming a mother or parent is so incredibly transformative, and I feel a deep passion to mother the mother, and to hold space for the new parents who emerge post the birth of their baby.
I believe that through the birth of our babies, we too are born. The transformation from maiden to mother is such an intense right of passage, and should not be walked alone. I am here to offer my support for this transition period for you and your family, so you may be held, loved and nurtured as you navigate your postpartum period.
“The most difficult part of birth is the first year afterwards. It is the year of travail - when the soul of a woman must birth the mother inside her.”

“As a first time mum, having Larissa to listen, hold space and pass on her own knowledge to me was invaluable. I’m grateful to have had her beside me.”
